Went to the gun show today and came home with a Colt jr. (actualy made in Spain for Colt) Although only very slightly larger then a 1908, it seems to fill the hand much better. Seems to be well made and in EXL. cond. I'm a accumulater more then a shooter but will put a few rds through it.

I'm a real sucker for .25 pocket autos. Yes I know they arn't great for SD. I like them as collectables not weapons.

The Colt Junior/Astra Cub is a classic!

I LOVE my Astra Cub, made in 1958, if I recall correctly. One of my favorite tiny guns. Mine's .22 short, tho.

I love my 1968 Astra Cub too. If anyone knows where I can get a replacement grip screw, let me know. Thanks to my unsteady hands, I marred one today as I was tightening a grip panel, and I've got to make it right.

you can fix minor screw head slips by filing and then re-cutting the groove with a needle file.  Re-blue it with cold blue (first application will only gray the metal)

U might try numrich gun parts

Seems they may be sold out currently of the Astra cub grip screw($4.20) ? But a call or more thorough search might be productive....

Thanks, guys. I'll keep an eye on Numrich and the auction sites. I'll also try a little careful filing, minus the coffee.

If you went to your local hardware isn't there a chance you could match the screw up? I doubt if the grip screw is some exotic thread pattern. Jim

Hardware stores don't sell gun screws. You might be able to match the threads, but the head will be wrong.

Give this fellow a call.

I have had good luck getting hard to find parts from him.
